Association of Mechanical and Chemical Methods for Cotton Stalk Destruction Planta Daninha
FRANCISCHINI,A.C.; CONSTANTIN,J.; MATTE,W.D.; OLIVEIRA JR.,R.S.; RIOS,F.A.; MACHADO,F.G..
ABSTRACT: The destruction of cotton stalks after harvesting is a prophylactic measure aimed at reducing the population of insects and disease inoculants that may remain in the crop residues and remaining cotton plants. The objective of this work was to evaluate integrated methods of management of the cotton stalks, combining mechanical and chemical control, to promote the eradication of cotton stalks. A 7x5 factorial experiment was installed where seven different methods of mechanical control of cotton stalk and five herbicide treatments were tested. The percentage of control (visual scale of 0 to 100%) and the number of plants regrowth per meter were evaluated at 14, 28 and 50 days after herbicide application treatment. At the end of the experiment, the...

TAKANO,H.K.; OLIVEIRA JR.,R.S.; CONSTANTIN,J.; SILVA,V.F.V.; MENDES,R.R..
ABSTRACT: The use of mixtures and rotation of herbicide modes of action are essential for herbicide resistance management. The purpose of this research was to evaluate different pre- and post-emergence herbicides to control goosegrass in soybean and corn. Four greenhouse experiments were conducted, one in pre-emergence and the three others in post-emergence. In pre-emergence, the number of emerged plants and the control percentage at 20, 35 and 50 days after application were evaluated. In post-emergence, the control percentage was evaluated at 14 and 28 days after application on plants with one tiller and four tillers. The use of residual herbicides to control glyphosate-resistant goosegrass is a very important tool for its effective management. The...

RAIMONDI,R.T.; CONSTANTIN,J.; MENDES,R.R.; OLIVEIRA JR.,R.S.; RIOS,F.A..
ABSTRACT: Currently, sourgrass is one of the most important weeds in grain production areas in Brazil. The objective of this work was to evaluate the efficiency of associated systems composed by mowing and chemical control against clumped sourgrass. In the first experiment, different mowing heights (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 cm), coupled with complementary applications of glyphosate + clethodim, were evaluated on sourgrass control. The second experiment was composed by programs starting with fallow mowing at different times, 50 (early), 35 (intermediate) and 20 (late) days before soybean sowing. After mowing, treatments were followed by herbicide applications according to the need until soybean harvest. The shorter the mowing height associated with herbicide...

INFLUENCE OF PRECIPITATION AND SUGARCANE STRAW IN AMINOCYCLOPYRACHLOR AND INDAZIFLAM CONTROL EFFICIENCY Planta Daninha
GUERRA,N.; OLIVEIRA JR,R. S.; CONSTANTIN,J.; OLIVEIRA NETO,A. M.; PUTON,G.; GARRIDO,T. H. P..
ABSTRACTThe raw sugarcane harvesting system has changed the dynamics of weed tillage for this crop, changing the predominant weed species and providing a barrier between the herbicide and the soil. Thus, this study has aimed to assess the influence of precipitation and sugarcane straw in the aminocyclopyrachlor and indaziflam herbicides control efficiency for the species Ipomoea trilobaand Euphorbia heterophylla. There were two trials, one for aminocyclopyrachlor and one for the indaziflam, both in the greenhouse at the campus of Faculdade Integrado in the Brazilian city of Campo Mourão, PR. Each experiment consisted of eight treatments with four replications. The treatments consisted of the combination of the presence of straw (10 t ha-1), capillary...

BRAZ,G.B.P.; ANDRADE JR.,E.R.; NICOLAI,M.; LOPEZ OVEJERO,R.F.; CAVENAGHI,A.L.; OLIVEIRA JR.,R.S.; CHRISTOFFOLETI,P.J.; PEREIRA,A.T.A.; CONSTANTIN,J.; GUIMARÃES,S.C..
ABSTRACT: Post-harvest cotton stalk control is mandatory in many cotton producing countries, and the major methods used for this practice are mechanical and chemical (glyphosate and 2,4-D as the most usual herbicides applied), or a combination of both. However, the adoption of glyphosate-resistant cotton varieties by growers have required the development of alternative chemical treatments. Six trials were conducted to evaluate systems combining mowing and chemical control of glyphosate-resistant cotton stalks. Experiments conducted in 2014 were installed in randomized complete block design with nineteen treatments and four replicates. In 2015, the experiments were also conducted in randomized complete block design with eleven treatments and four...

Persistence of Biological Activity and Leaching Potential of Herbicides Aminocyclopyrachlor and Indaziflam in Soils with Different Textures1 Planta Daninha
GUERRA,N.; OLIVEIRA JÚNIOR,R.S.; CONSTANTIN,J.; OLIVEIRA NETO,A.M.; GEMELLI,A.; PEREIRA JÚNIOR,D.M.; GUERRA,A..
ABSTRACT Herbicides aminocyclopyrachlor and indaziflam are under development in Brazil. Information about the behaviors in Brazilian soils and climate is scarce. Thus, the present work has aimed to evaluate the persistence of biological activity and leaching potential of aminocyclopyrachlor and indaziflam in contrasting textured soils by means of bioassays. For the evaluation of persistence, four experiments were performed, in which soils with different textures were studied in different time periods between herbicide application and bioindicator sowing (beet and soybeans). To determine leaching potential, three blades of rainfall (0, 30 and 60 mm) were simulated, each constituting a single experiment in soils with different textures and five bands of...

SELECTION OF HERBICIDES TARGETING THE USE IN CROP SYSTEMS CULTIVATED WITH SHOWY CROTALARIA Planta Daninha
BRAZ,G. B. P; OLIVEIRA JR,R. S; CONSTANTIN,J.; TAKANO,H. K.; CHASE,C. A.; FORNAZZA,F. G. F.; RAIMONDI,R. T..
ABSTRACT The increase in the area planted with Crotalaria spectabilishas occurred by several factors, highlighting the potential to reduce the nematodes, nitrogen fixation and the high production of biomass. By becoming a species sown as a crop, it is necessary to control the weeds that coexist with showy crotalaria. This change in the use of this crop creates the possibility of this specie becoming a weed. The aim of this study was to assess the potential use of herbicides applied in preemergence and postemergence of C.spectabilisfor different purposes (control of volunteer and selectivity plants). Three experiments were installed in a greenhouse (two with herbicides applied in preemergence - in soils with distinct textural categories; and one experiment...
